This morning this comment was made to me. It was good so I wanted to share it with you.

The Lost Art of the Handwritten Words

The books begin again, these handwritten notes of life. While knowing that I could use a computer and be a lot faster, it is in moments when one must slow ones self and measure of silence can be found. Someday they maybe found anew. For now, they are my thoughts written for me; later when I have dies and gone from this world may others find them entertaining. THIS IS NOT MEANT TO BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE. IT WILL BE ONE SIDED AND FULL OF EMOTION. Nothing that is to held against anyone. Keep that in mind as you read these pages and the words that they contain.

Slow your mind and write your thoughts with a pen and paper.

ABOUT TO CHANGE

You know that moment right before it begins to rain or the moment just before the wind changes direction. You notice the quiet and the air seems to hang. Rather as if the world had just took a deep breath and it will start spinning again. Nevertheless, just now everything holds for just pause to prepare for what lies ahead. What ever is out there in front you will see soon. You may not know what or how things are going to change just that they are.

It is in this moment, that one little moment that I find myself. The preparation for the events, which lay out in front of me like a path that you just are not able to see yet. The unknown way you will do. The only thing that you know for sure is that it will not be like what it is right now. Some decision or event is about to change everything in most likely a way you have never though of.

There is no way to prepare for the moments that will follow. All that you are able to do is hold still and take that deep breath with the rest of the world right before it takes off again. There is that unknown path with the twists and turns that lies out there before me. Hidden in the fog there is a change coming.

This is usually the time in which I panic and try so hard to stay right were I am. There I am not moving, frozen in the fear of the shift that I am unable to prevent. Not knowing if it is a good thing or a bad thing, I have always feared that it would be the bad. To many time in my life the turn has been something that I do not want, something bad that I cannot change. I find that I am no longer the eternal optimist but I wait for the hit with something new that will hurt and tear my heart apart opening the old wounds once again.

The hope I once had of a happy future now just waits for the end. The will come a time when the pain will no longer hurt anymore. Yet I want to believe there is good coming. Surely, with so many bad turns odds are that there is something special hiding in the fog just out of sight.

Then is comes the rain pours down and the wind shifts to blow once again. Bracing yourself again what is coming you stand facing the wind. Prepared as much as you are able to be, ready to meet this new thing head on.

Do you see it yet? What is it? Where does the path go? Tell me… what is coming?

Companion/Magistrate

One of my favorite things these days is going into a virtual world and traveling in the Gorean sims. Among these sims I am the Magistrate of Fina, a true honor and challenge. Thankfully I have earned the respect of a fair number of the men in the City.

Monday I because the High Magistrates companion. It was a short celebration, but with the Magistrates schedule it was hard to get that much time in. The Head Scribe was available so we quickly had a small service. There was the three of us and the one witness which is all that is required. We drank the wine and it was so. The Magistrate has shown himself to be a very wise man and I learn a lot from him. Unfortunately that schedule has taken him away from Fina to many times.

To this I have discovered that I am the main Magistrate and have had to handle a number of things that I had not anticipated. Walking between two fighting warriors would rank as one of the top things I don't ... yet do enjoy. Every day that I have been in those kind of situation and walked away with my head still attached and no collar around my neck I feel that has been a good day.

Unfortunately the way that things went we were unable to go to Sais. I do hope we are able to do that soon and I would like to see my friend Lotus and renew discussions with the Magistrate of the city.

The day ended with the High Magistrate being called off for a discussion with one of the warrriors. Thankfully I was not excluded and appreciated that gesture from the High Magistrate since I am on more often and handle most of the work load. This is a puzzling case though because the data of proof was from back on the 15th, over two weeks old. Why was it brought forth now.

The other matter, Murat has taken away and is dealing with it so I will need to follow up with him as to what happened. This will work out well because I do need to get back to him about the civil guard for the city.

Life as a Magistrate rarely slows. Besides that there were visits from friends. So it was a pleasant evening.

FYI: It is fun being mistaken for a lawyer.
